MSL-90 Lock

    These safes no longer come standard with this lock.

    IMPORTANT:
  1. To ensure the safety of your belongings, you MUST change the factory set code to your own unique code immediately!

FEATURES:

MSL-90
      Two Code Capacity
    1. User 1 Code: Factory Set
    2. User 2 Code: Factory Set

      Wrong Code Penalty
    1. If an invalid code is entered 3 consecutive times this will put the lock in a 5 minute lock out state (The "OPEN" LED will flash and beep 10 times). You will not get any response from the keypad during this period.
      Audio/Visual Signals
    1. The Lock Has No Response [No Flash, No Beeps]
      Make sure the wires in the keypad housing are not pinched and are securely connected.
      Low Battery Alert
    1. Controller repeated beeping during an unlocking indicates that the battery is low and needs immediate replacement.
    2. Manufacturer recommends the use of 9-Volt premier alkaline batteries and an annual maintenance replacement of the batteries.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:

      Always Perfrom this operation with the door open
    1. Before closing the door, make sure all the changes are correct.
      Change 1st User Code
      [1-25 digits]
    1. Enter : *-Current User Code/Default Code -#
      [[OPEN]] will display & LED is now Green for 5 seconds
    2. While the LED is still Green & [[OPEN]] displayed:
      Enter : *-0-0-1-#
      [[SET]] will display & LED is now Orange for 10 seconds
    3. While the LED is still Orange& [[SET]] displayed:
      Enter : Current User Code -#- New User Code -#
      [[SET]] displayed will turn off with a double beep, confirming the code change
    4. Your new User 1 code is now changed
      If a mistake is made during the code change wait 15 seconds & repeat steps 1 - 4
      IMPORTANT: If the default factory code of x-x-x-x is still working, you will use this to change the User 2 Code in the next section
      Change 2nd User Code
    1. Enter : *- Current User Code/Default Code -#
      [[OPEN]] is displayed & LED is now Green for 5 seconds
    2. While the LED is still Green & [[OPEN]] is displayed:
      Enter : *-0-0-2-#
      [[SET]] will display & LED is now Orange for 10 seconds
    3. While the LED is still Orange & [[SET]] is displayed:
      Enter : Current User Code -#- New User Code -#
      [[SET]] displayed will turn off with a double beep, confirming the code change)
    4. Your new User 2 code is now changed.
      Open Lock
    1. Enter : Factory Default Code: *-x-x-x-x-#
      [[OPEN]] will display & LED will light up for 5 seconds

    2. Turn handle clockwise, while the [[OPEN]] is displayed & LED is still Green
      Low Battery Warning
    1. If [[OPEN]] is displayed & LED is Red when opening the safe; this is a LOW BATTERY warning.
      [We recommend replacing the battery immediately]
      Changing the Batteries
    1. On the bottom of the keypad there is a black plastic cover, remove that cover to gain access to the 9V battery.
    2. Replace the battery : 9V [Alkaline batteries recommended]

TROUBLESHOOTING THE LOCK:

      The Lock Has No Response [No Beeps]
    1. Make Sure the battery wires in the keypad housing are not pinched and are securely connected.
    2. Lock can possibly be in the lockout penalty, wait five (5) minutes and check if the lock responds [See : Wrong Try Penalty]
    3. Replace the existing batteries with new ones. [See : Changing the Batteries]
      The Lock Is Responding But Does Not Unlock:
    1. Make sure you are getting a valid response.
    2. Make sure you get a signal with every key stroke.
    3. Make sure you are not in time delay mode. [See : How to Open in Time Delay]
    4. Replace the existing batteries with new ones. [See : Changing the Batteries]
      If the lock still does not open

      Follow the instructions carefully to get the best possible use from your lock.

BASIC FEATURES & FUNCTIONS:

    1. 6 Personal Codes available. Keep notes on which code belongs to which user [Users: Master, User 1, User 2, User 3, User 4 & User 5]
    2. The Mesa Model MSL-90 Electronic Lock is shipped from the factory with a factory set Default Code. You should set the lock to your own unique master code immediately.
    3. If four incorrect entries are entered in a row, the keypad will shut down for a period of five (5) minutes.
      During this shut down period the keypad will not accept any codes.
    4. Programmable time delay function can be set from 01 minute to 59 minutes.
      Optional dual user mode, in this mode two separate codes will need to be entered to unlock safe.
