Robbers Steal An Estimated $27,000 from Grocery Store

In the city of St. Charles, the police are investigating a burglarized grocery store.  The La Huerta Supermarket was robbed an estimated amount of $27,000, according to the police reports. The police drove over to the crime scene after the alarm was triggered. The burglary took place on July 29^th where the police found the back door of the store open and the grocery store ransacked.

Inside the store two safes were completely pried open and emptied out. One of the safes contained approximately $25,000 in cash and checks and the second safe held about $2,000. The owner of the store told the police that most of the money came from transfer services that the business offers.  The burglars were able to get inside and rob the store without being caught by creating a hole at the top of the roof. The police found three different sets of footprints on the roof. The owner even mentioned that maybe one of the burglars tried to unplug the camera system, but failed.
